We caught up with our Ellesmere Port Store Manager, Kat, who told us a favourite things about working at Store First as well as a few interesting facts!

What Store do you work at?
Store First Ellesmere Port (the best one obviously!)
If you could store anything in the world in one of our units for free, what would it be?
The world’s biggest collection of rare vinyl.
What's the most unusual job you've ever had before joining this team?
I once worked on a production line putting widgets into Guinness cans.
What's the most adventurous thing you've ever done, or something on your bucket list you're excited to check off?
This year, my girlfriend and I bought a 21-year-old van, had it converted to a camper and spent 3 weeks travelling through France, Italy, and Switzerland in it. The whole thing started with me buying tickets to see Harry Styles in Italy on a whim and resulted in an amazing trip of a lifetime and an engagement. We’re also going to the Olympics next year and staying in the camper again.
Share a fun fact about yourself that most people on the team don't know.
I used to have my own business making hot tubs, and I’m a qualified Beauty Therapist and Qualified Accountant. Completely random, I know!
What's your favourite way to unwind and de-stress after a long day at work?
Either going to a gig with my better half and dancing the night away or cuddled up on the sofa together with a brew and trash TV. It depends what kind of day I’ve had!
Share your favourite team memory or the funniest moment you've experienced with your colleagues.
There are too many funny moments to choose from, every day we’re laughing at something or other.
What's your hidden talent or hobby that you're passionate about outside of work?
I don’t have any hidden talents, but my hobbies are going to gigs, collecting rare vinyl and gig tee’s, hiking, reading and Bongo-ing (my campervan is a Mazda Bongo)
What's your favourite aspect of working at Store First and helping customers with their storage needs?
Every day is different and with each new customer signed up it’s a problem solved for someone. I love the team we’ve built here and the feel of the store.
If you could have any historical figure as a customer, who would it be, and what do you think they'd store?
Someone like Anne Lister who would hopefully be storing her secret diaries with us. I think she’d be someone really interesting to sit and chat with over a brew!
If you were stranded on a desert island and could only have three items, what would they be?
One of my pairs of Doc Martens, sun cream (I’m naturally a ginger) and a very long book.
